Getting around

The BKK network has four metro lines; line M1, opened in 1896, is one of the oldest in the world. Tram 2 runs along the Danube on the Pest side. Tickets: bkk.hu.

Money and language

The currency is the forint (HUF), not the euro. The official language is Hungarian.
